Kauila and Captain, Kawika Crivello
Big Island Consumer, Kauila Haumea had the honor of meeting some of the crew of the Hokule`a at the Imiloa Astronomy Center. As an added bonus, his raffle ticket won him a video, hat, and T-shirt. He shared his experience with the Big Island AILH Mixed Adult Support Group and members decided to watch the video, “The Navigators – Pathfinders of the Pacific” during their recent meeting. After watching the documentary, an interesting group discussion ensued about the generation gap and the importance of passing on knowledge.
A couple of days later, Kauila and fellow consumer, Paul Pascua went to visit the Hokule’a and crew members in Hilo where they were docked as a part of their Mahalo, Hawai’i Sail 2018.
